On Tuesday, January 3, 2017, Coastal Mini Storage presented the Pender County Humane Society with a check for one thousand five hundred dollars ($1500.00). The generous donation was the result of Coastal Mini Storage employees participating in a company raffle that was created solely to benefit this organization.
Coastal Mini Storage of Hampstead Manager Brian Swan and Regional Manager Tina Foreman Beacham presented the check to Gloria Johnson, President of the Pender County Humane Society. It was heartwarming to witness Gloria’s appreciation of the gift. Gloria stated our gift would be used to further the mission of the Pender County Humane Society as a “no-kill shelter” and to provide for the necessary care of the animals that find a safe haven there.
Coastal Mini Storage chose Pender County Humane Society as the charity to receive the donation in December. Debbi Overbeck, controller for Coastal Mini Storage, had recently lost her beloved bichon, Gretchen to canine cancer. It was Ms. Overbeck’s wish to honor Gretchen through this donation.
“I know that our friends at Pender County Humane Society are incredibly grateful for this donation,” reflects Debbi. “Fifteen hundred dollars can go a long way to help them accomplish their goals, and we know that every dollar will be spent to help save animals.”
